Hello, September!

Usually it's the month of October that always flies by for me. This year, I think it's going to be September. Y'all, I blinked, and September was one-third gone. A trip to Boston for a family event probably added to the days whizzing by. Parker, as usual, was a champ on the plane. We busted out the Lil Gadgets headphones again (a must for plane travel now!). We love that they are volume-limited and come with an extra jack so we can listen along to whatever little man has on. Plus, they just fit his tiny head so darn well!

I've written before about our effort to create a television-free environment for Parker at home, but we also strive to keep him away from iPads and iPhones. So, you can imagine how happy little man was being able to play on the computer, listen to music, and watch Barney, Elmo, and (his favorite) YouTube home videos of railroad crossings! I mean, add in walking by the pilots in the cockpit, getting juice from beverage service, and spotting control towers and windsocks out the airplane window, and little man was in heaven.

I mean, does he not look like a pro on this shuttle bus ride to the rental car facility? And you know I packed the matchy matchy outfits for daddy and son.

Ringing in Labor Day at the Parker House Hotel - gotta love the name!

Toddler Headphones

Our frequent little flyer returned home on his 38th flight. Yep, as in almost 40. I feel that the numbers are inflated a bit now that we've moved to Huntsville (home to a small airport which pretty much dictates that we'll have a layover on all trips - for example it took two flights to get to Boston and two to get back). Regardless, little man has done 38 takeoffs, 38 travel times, and 38 landings. Whew. I need a coffee just thinking about it.

A Pumpkin Spice Latte, to be specific! Fun Fact - my friendly Starbucks baristas were slipping these babies to me in late August! Though now that September 8th has rolled around, the PSL is fully out and about. Does anyone else notice a taste difference with the new recipe? I think the lattes are a bit smoother, creamier and less spicy.

I may or may not have indulged in several, just to fully be able to articulate my thoughts on the new flavoring ;)

But also because a morning walk to Starbucks with my little guy in the stroller is pretty much a perfect morning in my books. Bonus points for getting a window seat where we can watch the hospital tram! (Parker is mildly obsessed with all things trains right now.)

Happy Almost Fall, Y'all!

  6. I don't realize we are that far into September already until you pointed it out!! Wow that is just crazy. How do you like those headphones for P? We're going to Disneyland in a couple weeks and I need to get Ellie some headphones for our chromebook to wear on the plane.

We are also thinking of going to Boston for our anniversary next year. Please tell me your favorite things, places, and eats while visiting there!!

  7. Gosh, I know! This month is flying by. Our little guy turns ONE at the end of the month, so I'm denying it is getting closer :) LOVE Parker's little button down shirts. He's just as precious as possible! Also, I agree about the PSL!

  8. Looks like such a fun trip, and love that little man is such an awesome flier!

I haven't had a PSL yet this season, but I heard they changed their recipe this year to using real pumpkin since there was a huge uproar last year about them using artificial ingredients. So as long as it's still yummy it's a win-win :)
