Solo Travel Favorites

Most of my travel is done with my little man in tow. Of the 27 flights I've taken since his birth, only seven have been without him! It feels so luxurious now when I fly somewhere alone. No need to tote a diaper bag, an endless supply of snacks and finger puppets... instead it's uninterrupted me time and it's fabulous! I get to be the one in the airport sipping a cappuccino and reading a magazine! I get to be the one traveling light! I was reminded of all this last week when I flew from Phoenix to Cancún to meet Max for our anniversary vacay. I made sure I had all my favorites for a day of flying...

1. Bright Kate Spade studs
These are a fun extra. I don't wear much jewelry when flying, but these are easy to wear and I like to have fun, inexpensive jewelry once I get to my travel destination! I bought this pair on sale at Nordstrom. I'm not sure when they'll be on sale again, but I wouldn't mind having them in every single color ;)

On sale. Always on sale. That little sale room they have in the stores is my favorite. I love how lots of the tops they carry have funky extras like the mixed patterns in the top I'm wearing above. It makes me happy to wear something fun! I couldn't find the exact top online, but the one below has mixed fabrics and a ruffle, Anthropologie staples!

To cover your legs from scratchy airplane seats. Nothing too warm in case you're traveling during the summer, and they must be comfy. These Mossimo ones from Target are my favorite. I think they are the most comfortable thing I own. It cost more money to have them hemmed than the actual purchase price of the pant, but still, I'm in love.

4. Flats
I have Steve Madden flats similar to these sandals, and I love them for traveling! They are a nice neutral color, and easy on the feet for having to hike it across an airport.

5. Big shoulder bag
Again I like a neutral color. I heart my Tory Burch purse, similar to the one below. I don't get to tote it around much anymore since the diaper bag usually doubles as my purse, so I love when I get to use it! It's nice and big, and easily fits my necessities for the flight: wallet/passport, magazine, book, cardigan in case the plane is chilly, iPhone, and sometimes the iPad (plus a random snack or bottle of water I pick up at the airport).

Do you have a favorite travel outfit? What do you bring for flying??

  1. I looove this outfit! I feel like I needed to go buy those pants like yesterday haha. And would you believe that I've never ever been on a plane? It's true. And baby Parker has already been on 20! He's sooo adorable by the way. Thanks so much for sharing :)
